I have made some enquiries and have found that there is a new initiative in East Anglia introducing White Storks. Whitestork.com have introduced 600 into our region and asked for sightings. I contacted them and forwarded the picture to them. Our Stork is not one of theirs though as it does not have a ring on his leg. They say he is a migrating bird that must have got here from his summer climes and missed the prevailing winds to continue his journey. They say he will probably be with us until the spring when he will move on. I just thought that if the Members see him that they might want to know a little about him. David Ottley.
